It should go without saying, but if you have symptoms DO NOT ATTEND ANY CLUB EVENT, self-isolate, and get yourself a test. Ditto if you have returned from a country or area where you are required to quarantine.
COVID-19 Officer
Mountaineering Scotland has strongly suggested that clubs appoint a 'COVID-19 Officer'. The club feels that this is a good idea, and will, in the event of any outbreak or positive result provide both the club and NHS Test and Protect with a single point of contact. The COVID Officer may be contacted here Currently, the 'officer' is Karen.
Club Cottage
Club cottage will remain closed until we return to Level 3 restrictions at which point, text below will be re-instated. Cottage bookings for Feb will open in case they can go ahead.
Current restrictions for the use of our cottage are:
Club Day Meets
Scotland is currently in a temporary lockdown. It is unknown when this will end Unfortunately, the exemption for organised group meetings granted to clubs DOES NOT APPLY while we are in lockdown.
The LAW for meeting others allows you to meet ONE other person from ONE other household.
The LAW allows travel for outdoor excersise which may start up to 5 miles outside your own local authority, and must start and end at the same point, (and can be taken with ONE other person).
The GUIDELINES are that you should stay close to home and travel no further than necessary for said outdoor excersise.
This text is based on the latest info from mountaineering Scotland as agreed with Scot Gov. https://www.mountaineering.scot/coronavirus
I have retained the (redacted) text below as I hope that we will be able to return to it sooner rather than later.
Under the latest COVID-19 guidelines from Mountaineering Scotland (which were agreed with Scot Gov), the club is allowed to run organised outdoor meets with up to 30 people from up-to 30 households. No car sharing is allowed. And the 30-person rule applies while 'on the hill' not for activities before or after. It is likely that the club will limit numbers to between 10 and 15, otherwise the number of vehicles is going to get silly. Keep an eye on the meets list for day meets.
In line with Government Requirements, the club must collect the details of everyone attending club day meets, this will be done using an online form. The data will be kept for 21 days after the meet has taken place and then deleted. It will be provided to NHS Scotland 'Test and Protect' if required.
Organised club activities must occur entirely within the local authority where the attendees are from. This means that folks from Stirling cannot meet up with folks from Clacks etc. Members are welcome to organise their own meet opening it up to folks from their own LA. This applies to both the travel to the start and the actual excersise.
The '5 mile' rule does not apply to organised groups. If you wish to venture outside your local LA by up to 5 miles then the 2-household/6 people rule applies instead. Full L3 rules from Scot Gov here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels/pages/protection-level-3/
As a reminder: ANY club member can organise a day meet. Doing this through the club enables more than 2 households to meet (with social distancing) as we have a risk assessment and test+protect in place. The only stipulation here is that your meet should be open to all members - eg it should be published via official club sources: Website,Facebook,WhatsApp etc. This is to prevent an ad-hoc free4all and allow everyone to benefit. The rules and process for this are documented here: https://www.ochils.com/events/covid19-meets-risk-assessment
Club Weekend Meets
Weekend Meets are not operating until further notice. James has planned in a schedule of camping meets for the summer as these are free to organise/cancel and the most likely to be able to go ahead.
