David ‘Heavy’ Whalley is giving a talk to the OMC on 4th October!
It will be great to welcome David Heavy Whalley to the OMC at Stirling County Cricket Club.
David was a member of the RAF Mountain Rescue for 36 years. He spent his last four years working in the Rescue Co-ordination Centre at RAF Kinloss giving him a real insight into Rescue in the UK.
He is an active climber and walker, climbs every week and is a member of the SMC and Moray Mountaineering club.
He has climbed in most parts of the world, has completed the Munros several times and was a member of the successful 2001 Everest North Ridge Expedition.
There will be time for Q&A after and drinks at the bar.
This is sure to be an inspiring talk.
Talk starts at 8PM. Hope to see you there.
Also same night booking will open for the Xmas Cottage Meet at the club cottage in Crianlarich.

Unfortunately David 'Heavy' Whalley has had to cancel his talk this week.
Mark Aitken has kindly agreed to step in at short notice. Mark is a regular contributor to Scottish Mountaineer, the magazine of Mountaineering Scotland, an OMC member and local climber. He has travelled extensively abroad and I am looking forward to his stories and photos of mountaineering in places such as Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Greenland and the Alps.
