Club Yoga evening, 7:00PM for a 7:15PM start. Run by Jean Y. Cost: £1pp (to cover cost of hiring the venue). We hope to have
AT LEAST 10 members present with the club paying the remaining cost for hiring the venue.
The session will last 1 hour 30 mins, and start at around 7:15PM, finnishing at 8:45PM, to give you 15 mins to get over to the Rubgy Club for refreshments!
Wear loose clothing. If you have a Yoga mat, bring it. If you dont then bring a (foam) sleeping mat instead.
The venue is the
Dance Studio at Lornshill Academy, Tullibody Road, Alloa.

Kellan MacInnes: Caleb's List

Club Meets) Kellan will talk about his discovery of a long forgotten Scottish hill list compiled by Victorian mountaineer Caleb George Cash. He set out to climb the 20 hills on Caleb’s list and along the way he experienced the healing power of the Scottish landscape. Caleb George Cash was an early Scottish mountaineer who explored the Cairngorms in the 1890s, ten years before the Scottish Mountaineering Club held their first meet in Aviemore in 1902. Though little remembered today, the remarkable Caleb Cash (1857-1917) was also a pioneer of nature conservation, concerned about the disappearance of the ospreys from their nest at Loch an Eilein in Strathspey. He was also responsible for saving Timothy Pont’s 15th century maps of Scotland for future generations. Kellan has written a book about his experience (Caleb’s List, Luath press).

David Jarman - Making Munros

Club Meets) David's talk was premiered for the Munro Society last year as the Irvine Butterfield Memorial Lecture. It has been billed as the first ever attempt to show why Munros are the magic height and why we have so many of them - and who the real neighbours are, Furth of Scotland. An no, it's not about making new Munros by building cairns or resurveying with GPS.
Some of you may know Dave's series "New Twists for Old Hills" in the "Scottish Mountaineer". He used to be a member of our club and has given talks at the OMC before, looking at hills from a geographical and geological perspective.
