Now everybody knows I like a bargin so just to let you know Lidls (I don't have shares yet) have some excellent bike gear in plus a lightweight tent that may be worth checking out. I purchased some panniers for my bie complet set for £14.99. also recommend the bike tool kit.
Also Alpkit (online) are doing quality headtorches for £12.50 (inc postage) as recommended by Bruce, I have just bought one and it is the bees knees.

I've got one of those elephant's foot sleeping bags from Alpkit. I was really surprised by the quality. It really is excellent.

I have a number of Alpkit items - all excellent. The service is great and stuff generally arrives in a day or two. UK Climbing has any number of threads praising the company.
Oh, and the Alpkit Gamma torch is great.

More praise for Alpkit. Their kit is perhaps not quite as good as the most expensive stuff available, but always seems to be very good and excellent value for money. Their service seems to be genuinely excellent.

Back to my favourite shop today (lidls) and thought that I would pass on that they have a rather fantastic lightweight climbing/hillwalking rucksack in for £17.99.
It has all the right features. 32L capacity 2 Quick release ice axe hoops. compression straps on each side side with exterior mesh pockets lightweight single buckle lid with internal and external storage. Internal removable frame Badder storage area for camel (donkey for me) back. Back vent system. Narrow fit, sitting high up from the waist (away from harness)
and a neat pockets on each side of the waist strap (which I have added additional climbing gear loops to with an old prussic cord)
Bargin.....If it does not fall apart afer use (and abuse), time will tell.
