The Ochils Mountaineering Club

As you will all have noticed we have had a large amount of snowfall, particularly here on the Ochils where I was intending to have the practical day.At our discussiont/class at the rugby club last week it was obvious to me that there was a wide difference in experience between the particapants. I am concerned if all of you have sufficent winter experience and equipment to safely take part in a day out in the current conditions. The long range forecast is for the tempreture to stay below freezing levels on the hills for the next 10 days which means there will be no loss of snow cover. The day out is meant to be about navigation not winter slills. I am minded to
postone the day out.I will be at the rugby club at 7.30 pm on thurs 2/12/10 before the bussiness meet,can those who were at the training night please come in then and we can discuss our options.
