Jere Scott has kindly offered to run a basic navigation course for club members.

This course will be done in two parts.

Thursday 2nd December 2010 [Edit: Changed To Thurs 25th Nov]. 7:30pm. Rugby Club - Basic Theory
Saturday 11th December 2010. 9am. Meet outside the Woolpack Pub, Tillicoultry for a day in the Ochils.Please come suitable dress and equipped for the hill.

[EDIT: Please bear in mind that this occurs on the same weekend as the club Cottage Xmas Meet - Nothing to stop you heading over to the cottage afterwards though for the meal on Saturday, and a walk on the Sunday.]

Participant will need OS map 58 Perth & Alloa 1:50 000 and a compass on both occasions.

Aims of the course:-

Increase your confidence in finding your way on the hill
Improve your skills in map reading and using a compass.
Provide handy hints and techniques to locate yourself on the hill in poor visibility.

This course will be provided free of charge to members however we would like some commitment by Sunday 28th November so we can gauge if it is feasible to run. Please email myself copying Jere in. Both our details are available on the forum. Thanks Jackie
