On Saturday, Simon, Alastair, Dan and myself had a fantastic winter day on Meall Glas, from the Glen Dochart side. It was a bit boggy going up, but I think it usually is there. There were great views in most directions, and the cloud that threatened to come in from the South stayed well away, as forecast, until late afternoon.
Alastair headed straight back after Meall Glas, while the rest of us ventured on to attempt Sgiath Chuil, via Beinn Cheathaich. However, it was quite slow progress coming off the top, and with it being one of the shortest days of the year we decided to just head back down the coire to the car. It was just as well, as it was dark by the time we got back at 4.45.
It was a great winter day and we all got to practice our winter skills too. I just wish I had been more organised and taken mulled wine and mince pies!
