That MWIS forecast is bleak. Not sure what Metcheck is up to....it has Alnwick as fair weather both days. Its a shame ab'dy has been to Logie Head already....Moray Coast not looking too bad. Far North ok too but sooooo far away.

I'd go back to Logie Head if that's where the weather was at...

Aye me I'd vote to go north if that is where the better weather is.

I was at Dunfermline ast night with Lewis as we got rained of Limekilns, bloody weather it looked good in the afternoon as well. It will be open until the 23rd of December and the mats are even more battered now.

We had a good training session we managed an intense 1hour 40 minutes before we became too weak to tie our own shoes.

Euan and Lewis are still up for getting away at the weekend as well.

Met Office forecast issued this morning does not look good for the NE. The far NW looks OK for Saturday, though not great ("Dry at first on Saturday but with rain spreading from the south later"), and showery for Sunday.
The thing the various forecasts do agree on is that it'll be generally unsettled and changeable!
With us heading away on Monday, it'd need to look a fair bit better before we'd head somewhere too far away.

Hi

Thats one that I think even I would be happy to lead next time... Would be better in the sun though... I'd prob goto Reiff for climbing still if it was just Sat, and then do somet else sun if the weather turned, but then, I am not averse to hill walking

My feeling is that there are plenty of other weekends available, and that if the weather really is gonna be naff then we rescedule this for the following weekend in the hope of a better forecast...

Latest Outlook:

"Sunday will see the remnants of low pressure over England filling and drifting away to the east. The main body of rain will generally affect England, but patchy rain and extensive clouds may well affect the Highlands during the day. Blustery northeasterly winds will slowly moderate slowly on Sunday and it will gradually become dry with lighter winds from the west as a ridge of high pressure generally builds into Monday."

The Grampian (Logie Head, Cummingston) forecast is now showing sunny intervals voth SAt and Sun. The far north, north west and Skye also look good but the wind looks fierce up there. Would folk really be up for the Moray Coast again? Stu? Scott?

As you can see below, the metoff forecast favours the North West, although I am aware that the Cairngorms does not really cover Cullen.

MetOff Forecast for West Highlands

Outlook for Saturday

Still a good deal of dry and bright weather, especially across the Northwest Highlands and Skye. it will be rather cloudy in the South of the area with some rain possible, especially over the Trossachs. Strong to gale force northeasterly winds across the summits.

Outlook for Sunday

Again mainly dry and bright across the northwest of the area but cloudier with the risk of rain further south, again especially towards the Trossachs. Strong northerly winds across the summits.

MetOff Forecast for East Highlands

Outlook for Saturday

Mainly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, mainly affecting the south of the area. Drier weather towards the Cairngorms and the Monadhliath Mountains. Strong to gale force Northeasterly winds across the summits.

Outlook for Sunday

Cloudy across much of the East Highland area with outbreaks of rain. The rain will be most persistent over the Northeast Highlands. Strong to gale force northerly winds across the summits.
