Fairwell to Achnahaird 3 Months ago
As some people will know, the estate are not going to renew the lease for Achnahaird campsite to Hector and Marilyn. As of the 6th October the best campsite in the world will no longer exist. The Jacobites club are planning a farewell meet on the weekend of the 27th September with usual climbing at Reiff during the day and socialising at night. Anybody else fancy a farewell weekend in a joint do wae the Jacobites club? Last chance!
Cheers

Something for those not on the Torridon meet perhaps? Tis a shame because the next nearest site is a fair old drive away...

Forgot about the Mol Mor meet! There are plans to build a new campsite on the swamp down to the left of the Am Fhuaran bar but obviously that will change the effic a bit, and the view isnae a patch on looking back to the Assynt hills. Anyone not going to Torridon? (........that climbs obviously!)

What a shame. A great unregimented site. I can also go the weekend of the 20th (but not the 27th) if a non-climber is acceptable. Not sure what I'll do - not an unclimbed pimple in the whole area unless I kayak to the islands. Now there's an idea ...

Let's bear the weekend of 20/21 in mind for Achnahaird - I fancy a day at Reiff (lucky if I get up a v-diff these days...)

Hi

Got my dates wrong, Loops and I can't do 21/21st, thats the start of our hols. Anyone for the weekend before - give more of a gap between Achnahaird and Mol Mor as well for those interested in going up there twice?!

Whit? Achnahaird's nowhere near Torridon!
We can't make the weekend before (13th/14th) as we'll be in the Dolomites. We might be able to make the 20th/21st - we'll be not long back. Don't base it around us, though - last minute baby issues or delayed flights might mean we can't make it anyway.
