Postcard from the alps. Having a fantastic time on my first walking trip to the alps doing some of the highlights of the Tour de Mont Blanc. Staying in the chalet Savoy in Les Houches which is excellent - really enjoying the hot tub after a day walking. Went up the Aiguille de Midi telepherique (3842M) on the afternoon I arrived. I now know what altitude feels like!! First day we walked from Trient in Switzerland back into France near Le Tour. Second day walked some of the Italian side of Mont Blanc. Third day walked up the Col de Tricot in France. The weather on the whole has been great. First day was showery and very like a typical Scottish hillwalking day. Every other day has been dry and hotter. Temperatures varying between 5C to 27C. We cut yesterday's walk a bit short as there was a storm last night. Today, our day off I visited Annecy - Venice of the Alps. It was fantastic. Another two days to go. Some fab pictures to show you.
