Andy and me had a short day on Meall Ghaordaidh. As often happens, the weather forecast proved a bit optimistic, and we had showers and rather more cloud than expected. Nevertheless we had some views of local hills from the top. Was disappointed that all the snow had gone - I expected at least some to remain after the fair amount we had a few weeks ago. Instead it was extremely boggy underfoot!

A nice short day and we were back in Stirling by 4pm.

Three Donalds - two of which were new for me as one was Gathersnow Hill which is a Graham - not solo on this walk as I have got my brother into these walks as well.
Seemed to be a high cloudbase in the Borders so good views , and these hills have surprisingly good close up views as well.
Descended further from the car than we intended (misleading forestry track) giving him a chance to gain some hitchhiking experience whilst I relaxed by the Tweed

We sauntered up Meall na Leitreach on Sunday. Saw a herd of about 50-60 deer and 11 (!) other walkers. Cold but sunny, good views, easy day. Even managed to get a few Christmas presents at the House of Bruar sale on the way home.

Freya enjoyed her Birthdé adventures on Tinto, with not a quiff in sight.
As a special birthday treat, uncle Andy came along too.
The weather was great, and we were home in time for tea.

Sat 15th and Sunday 16th.
McKenna's Pensioners' Outing. No luxury coaches or 5 star hotels. Instead mountain bikes and Ruigh Aiteachain Bothy.
Saturday. Blair Atholl, Gaick Pass, down Glen Tromie up Glen Feshie to bothy. Perfect weather - Strong tailwind through Gaick Pass.
Sunday. Continued up Glen Feshie, across the Eidart along the Geldie and down the Tilt back to Blair Atholl. Even better weather - no wind, sunshine and blue skies most of the day.
Thanks to all for the company and especially to Jim Mckenna for the organisation.
Jim
