Mournes 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Back fae my usual September trip to NI/Eire. This time Mountain Leader Training UK met at Tollymore and with excellent weather we managed to bash through the paperwork leaving us a long day on Lower Cove, in the Southern Mournes.

Climbed to HVS/5a on rounded, coarse-grained granite: delicate on the angle, brutal in the vertical and my climbing sluggish all-round!

I've always recommended this as a worthwhile venue and I remember saying that I would try and set one up. However, with the re-development of Tollymore, I've not been able to get a quote for our stay.
aye, Andy

Are you suggesting club members visit Northern Ireland

plenty for us hillwalkers as well if we are invited

I went in 1996 and got interesting reactions when I told people I was going to Northern Ireland for a holiday or is that English people being strange ?

'yes', Alison. Hillwalking would be a prime activity especially if the weather was halting climbing.
There's also the Sperrins to the West of Belfast.
