I've never liked Glencoe that much as its a honeypot & usually far too full of people on the hill. It does mean that other areas are quieter which is nice.
I think much the same about Fort William, the Northern Corries, the Lakes & at this time of year Glen Brittle.
Its one of the reasons I'm getting interested in Marilyns but not too interested.

Ah! Ha! now I understand. I was on Alison's wavelength there, Duncan.

I couldn't fathom out why Alison's link had nothing to do with Midgies!!

yes the link does work and it is updated regularly as i have seen the numbers change

though i rather think we all know where the midge hot spots or should that be 'itcy spots' are , already

to avoid them - take up scuba diving
