Thurs 11th September: number of potential new members at SCRFC at 9.30 = 4;number of members= 1.
(A grand total of 3 more members appeared later)
Could a few more locals try to get along on Thursdays, please?

My bus gets there at 9.40 , or else so early I am left hanging around waiting
so I do my best

What is the average turn-out like for an evening without a specific purpose (business meeting, quiz, talk etc.)?

Hi
Anything between 3 and 10. Not sure what the average would be. Where the booking for a meet opens that Thursday, there may be up to 15.
We probably make it every other week - We will endeavour to turn up next week.
I did have one phonecall from an interested party this week. When that happens in future, I will post a message in the members section.

I too usually try to make it in most of the time, but alas I have felt a bit rubbish with a cold this week.
I know AndyW goes in most weeks, but I do know he was going to see Wire last night.
Think Nigel's idea of letting us know if potential new members might be in is a great one.

Thursdays used to be advertised to meet & make plans for the weekend - this tends not to happen now. What happened to the day meets proposal? This would have given potential new members a concrete reason for coming along on a thursday, and something to come back for. I dont mind organising one.

I will make the club this Thursday by 9pm. Hopefully to make plans for the weekend (well Sunday anyway) climbing or walking depending on the weather.
I will take a selection from the OMC Library with me as well and if I am on my own at least I will have something to read.
